Law Practice Institute
WHAT IS THE LAW PRACTICE INSTITUTE?
KCMBA’s Law Practice Institute is a new program designed to help new lawyers transition from law school to the day-to-day practice of law. The Law Practice Institute seeks to expand upon practical legal knowledge gained in law school in order to instill in new lawyers the skills and insight needed to navigate the everyday practice of law.
The Law Practice Institute will consist of four, two-hour sessions, held quarterly, on the following topics:
- March 18- Now that I Have My J.D., What do I do??: This session will cover areas of practice and information appearing in various courts and address long-term goals.
- June 17- Business Development and Networking: Among other invaluable tips, this session will expose new attorneys to the Three Pillars of Relationship Business Development.
- September 16- Nuts & Bolts of Building a Law Practice: This session will highlight tips from highly successful attorneys on starting, setting up and managing a successful practice.
- November 18- How to Survive/Thrive in any Size of Law Firm: Receive key information on climbing the ladder while remaining authentic and recognizing the importance of being a team player.
All sessions are from 3:30-5 PM, with a networking reception following.
