How to be a Good Board Member| Speaker - Nathan A. Orr, Spencer Fane LLP | September 11 | 4:00-4:50pm
This program will give attorneys the tools to be a good board member of a 501(c)3 or 501(c)6 organization.  It will cover how nonprofits function and the fiduciary duties required of board members, including duty of care, ensuring prudent use of all assets; duty of loyalty, ensuring the nonprofit’s activities and transactions are first and foremost and recognizing and disclosing conflicts of interest; and duty of obedience, ensuring the nonprofit obeys laws and regulations, follows its bylaws and adheres to its mission. The Basics of Municipal Warrants, Family, Landlord/Tenant, and Bankruptcy Law - Developed with KCMBF | September 26 | 1:00-4:30pm
